Welcome to the 30 Day Self Care Challenge! This challenge is designed to help you grow into a regular practice of self-care. Let’s face it, we live in some seriously f*cked up times today. If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention. But we can’t remain in a constant state of heightened alert. Given the current state of affairs in our world today, performing radical acts of self-love is not selfish, it is absolutely necessary.
Think of it like a plane going down – you have to put on your own oxygen mask first before you can help someone with theirs. If you are not in a regular routine of taking care of yourself then you should commit to the challenge. Committing to something for 30 days is pretty awe-inspiring because:
- You are opening up your mind to a new way of being.
- Habits are formed after 21 days, so you are well on your way to establishing healthy new habits.
- Completing the challenge will give you new found confidence and boost your self-esteem.
By following the daily prompts you will gain a deeper understanding of how you can take better care of yourself. You will be challenged to raise your own awareness about the importance of loving your whole self; mind, body, and spirit, and discover how amazing you truly are. You will be recharged and ready to keep resisting.
We designed these to be simple, free (or almost-free), and easy to fit into your day. Most will be on your own:
But some will require that you reach out to a loved one:

This is a personal journey so remember it’s all about progress, not perfection. My daughter and I have done the challenge together (most of the ideas were hers!) so why not grab a friend to share in the journey?

What a great idea! Though I think day 10 would be a tough one!
I know! I’m still not sure how Kira and I will handle a day without our phones in our hands! I’ll update everyone on the 11th day!
I really love this idea! I’m going to jump in on it 🙂 Can’t wait to follow everyone’s progress through the month!
Yay! I’m looking forward to it also! Thanks for joining in.
Love this absolutely. I subscribed.
Thanks! This would be really fun for you to do with your girls, too!
This is a great idea. Helping others hold themselves accountable is a great motivator for a lot of people I know. I like all your ideas for each of the days too. Very cool.
My daughter was really the inspiration for all of this. She constantly motivates me to be a better person and I loved seeing the ideas she came up with, too!
This is absolutely amazing! I love this! 🙂
Thanks Cerin!
I really look forward to challenges like this. It’s easy to move too quickly through life and not appreciate the small things. I love the last day of playing it forward and giving back to those less fortunate.
Thanks Monica. That’s actually my favorite one ; )
An inspiring article! I like this idea! We so often don’t give ourselves the love we need.
I agree Carmen. Why is it so hard for women especially? We are so good at taking care of everyone else!
Great ideas! I need to follow these and make take for myself. Now more than ever.
Yes! Follow along with us Shelanda, it’s the perfect time to take care of yourself!
What a fun idea! It’s nice to make improvements one step at a time. This challenge is perfect for that!
I’m looking forward to it. So many of the other ones I’ve seen include “yoga” or a “bubble bath” (both of which make me cringe). It was a lot of fun coming up with these!
Great ideas!
Thanks Christina!
It is always a wonderful idea to care for your self and to take time to do it.
I agree Jen and it’s something I struggle with. I’m hoping the challenge helps change that for me and others.
This is something I struggle with. Thanks for the inspiration.
Of course! I think we all need to pause and take care of ourselves from time to time. It’s good to have a reminder!
I absolutely **adore** this idea. Can I borrow your graphic, link back to your page as inspiration and download, and share my progress on my blog/social media?
Sure Evangeline, that would be great! The more, the merrier I think. I’m definitely one who needs the motivation from others to stick with it and I would love to see the progress you make!
What a fabulous idea! Many times people start things like this in January, but September seems to be the perfect time to start taking care of yourself!
Thanks, Melissa. Fall is my favorite time of year and it always feels like a new beginning or chance for a “do-over” so this seemed like a good fit : )
